It's a deal

It's over folks.

It's back to work for those who gave us such wicked and wonderful storylines as Wilhelimina plotting to marry into the Meade business only later to get fired from Mode to one Chuck Bartowski aka resident geek turned secret spy to House finding out that Wilson is dating a female version of him (Medulla, Miss J..you both have gottta watch that!!). Yes, the 3-month long WGA strike - which has not only caused major concern for some of us TV addicts but also the producers of this year's Oscars (probably popping a couple of champagnes) - has come to an end. Hurrah!!

So while it may take at least 1-2 months before we get new episodes of Grey's, Ugly Betty, House, 30 Rock, The Office etc, those hoping to check out the second volume of everyone's beloved Heroes or the fantastically eccentric Pushing Daisies might have to wait til August or September (awwwww..) but hey, with American Idol season 7 getting into full gear (I still can't believe the judges actually voted 'yes' to that Josiah fella after the diva-like behaviour he threw prior to his performance..what is up with that??), the wait may not be as painful as it probably is made to be.

Writers, welcome back!

Deal or no deal?

Could this weekend be the light at the end of the tunnel everyone has been wishing for ever since the WGA went on strike three months ago? Though it's been reported that some kind of deal has been reached between the writers and the producers which has yet to be agreed/voted by the WGA members (in other words, it ain't over til the fat lady sings), let's hope for progress. I'm not just saying this for the benefit of those people who have been without work since this mess started aka the non-writers, but don't you wanna know whether or not (spoiler alert!) Nathan Petrelli survives the assassination...or will McDreamy find happiness with that not-so-whiny-and-selfcentred-as-Meredith nurse..or how Cameron and Chase will be brought back into the Dr House fold?

I DO!!

The WGA members may not read this blog but I don't think I can wait another seven months (yes you heard me right!!) to find out when Blair Waldorf will reclaim her Queen Bitch of the Upper East Side crown!

Power of words

It seemed there was some glimmer of hope with reports saying how the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (let's call them the "bigwigs") and the Writers Guild Association had once again resumed negotiations. Could there be an early Christmas present for both sides as well as us tv viewers? After watching the last episode of Heroes, I'm itching to know whether Nathan (spoiler alert!) survives...and how will I survive without my almost-weekly dose of Gossip Girl??

Alas, that glimmer quickly turned to dust.

The bigwigs claim they are "puzzled and disheartened" by another breakdown. Seriously?? We are talking about rich bigwigs here with their big fat pockets which most of us can't even make in our lifetime including them writers!! How confident they must seem by losing a couple of millions (hello reality shows!) as opposed to achieving a win-win situation.

In the meantime, the WGA has been gaining support from the stars ranging from Woody Allen to Sean Penn to the cast of Ugly Betty via the "Speechless" campaign.

Imagine the misanthropic House without his witty sarcasm..

..or witty soundbites such as this "Great. Butchest moment of my life and it's wasted on my sister." Kevin, who is gay, after opening a stuck window for sister, Sarah on Brothers & Sisters..

'nuff said.

What was she thinking??

Maybe she's chanelling Celine Dion's Oscar fashion faux pax but someone ought to tell Jennifer Morrison aka Dr Cameron (House) that wearing a sackbag - whether it's back to front or vice versa! - is never a good choice. Or better still should not even be a choice in the first place. Whatever will Dr House say...

Confessions of a TV-holic

By now most of you will know that I'm a tv addict. And that's on top of being a shopaholic - hey, this girl can't help it if bags, shoes, clothes, jewellery, kain and just about anything are her vices!

So if you're a fellow tv addict, then you'll understand and share my excitement when I say:
  • Brothers & Sisters is coming to StarWorld and it comes highly recommended from yours truly!
  • Hallmark is going to broadcast The Starter Wife soon.
  • The new seasons of Heroes, House, Grey's, Brothers & Sisters, The Office premiere this week - though sadly this applies to the US of A (like that's ever stopped me *wink* *wink*)
  • Gossip Girl is the new 'The O.C' but more hipper.
  • I'm looking forward to Bionic Woman, Chuck and Pushing Daisies and the return of Dexter (Medulla who I'm sure is counting down the days!)
  • Damages is twisted and Glenn Close is the perfect manipulative b*tch!!

Snooze fest at the Emmys

Ok so I was a wee bit disappointed that Hugh Laurie nor House didn't win anything at last night's much-hyped Emmy awards, though I secretly hoped that that bloke from The Sopranos would take the award in light of the glowing reviews it had garnered for its final season...but James frickin' Spader? Again?!? Somehow this year's nomination for Hugh Laurie felt like a cop-out after last year's hoo-ha over his non-inclusion...and who seriously believes this whole mantra of "it's-not-the-award-that-counts-but-that-you're-
nominated-that counts" anyway??!!?? Are we supposed to believe that nominees such as Alec Baldwin, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Sandra Oh, Charlie Sheen are ok with being nominated when infact each and one of 'em are secretly wishing they would win??

I'd also been watching re-runs of the Red Carpet interviews on the E! channel largely 'cos I am one of those celebs-obssessed fans curious to see who was wearing what and who would be brave enough to turn up in some outrageous outfit reminiscence of Bjork (anyone need reminding of the infamous swan outfit??)..only to be disappointed by the choices as a whole.

Where was the Cher wannabe who aimed to make the list of either most outrageous outfit or worst-dressed list? Nada. Zip. Zero. Well maybe Becki Newton (Ugly Betty) could qualify but it's still 'safe' in my books and not wacky enough to garner a place in Mr Blackwell's worst-dressed list! Everyone played it safe..opting for long dresses with the occasional feather-encrusted trail (see Vanessa Williams). Satin was the choice of most along with plunging necklines..each trying to outdo the other in the cleavage department! I never thought I'd say this but I was actually wishing Posh (gasp! shock! horror! yes you will never let me get away from this!) would make an entrance in her mini skin-tight dresses. That's how boring it was but I'll let you be the judge of that..

McGrumpy is back

OMG! OMG! I just have to put this in. House is coming back peeps!!
Season 3 starting on September 17.
Ok, maybe I've already seen season 3 but I still get my high watching seasons 1 and 2, and that's quite a rare accomplishment only bested by Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica!
So mark your calendars people..September 17 on AXN.

Counting Down..

For the benefit of those who don't know me yet, I'm a big..no, make that a HUGE fan of the TV show "HOUSE" and I'm starting my own countdown before the show resumes itself (in the US that is) this Wednesday (Tuesday for those in the US)

33 hours and 42 minutes to go..

..and counting...
