1) Pan's Labyrinth Winner of far-too-numerous-for-me-to-mention awards including Oscars for Art Direction and Makeup respectively, this comes highly recommended. I can't believe I cried while watching the film...and I'm not one to easily break into sniffles when it comes down to movies.
2) Summer sales Singapore, Thailand, UK, US...it's that time of the year peeps to get your hands on that Lanvin Maxi Bag you've been eyeing, or the Kate Moss Top Shop Collection which you're dying to add to your ever-growing closet!
3) Lost season 3 Ok so maybe my interest will wane after 6 episodes and that ratings in the US have been lacklustre but you gotta admit there's something about this show which still gets people talking.
4) Wimbledon Centre Court, strawberries and cream, white dress code, crappy weather..that's what makes this Grand Slam a not-to-be-missed event. Even more interesting will be seeing Nadal undo his wedgies in those white pants!!
5) Natasha Bedingfield's N.B The return of the more famous Bedingfield sibling (Daniel, wherefore art thou?) with more contemporary pop songs running along the theme of finding Mr Right.. Natasha's sophomore album might lack the sucker-punch which was evident in songs such as 'Single' and 'Unwritten' but if you're looking for something fluffy and easy for the ears, give this a try.
6) More summer movies So maybe Pirates, Spiderman 3 and Shrek the Third didn't live up to everyone's expectations, look out for the forthcoming Fantastic Four sequel, Harry Potter, Die Hard 4..the trailers seem promising..and can I add Ocean's 13 into the must see list too..one of the better three-quels for this summer.
7) Apple crumble/pie Never was a fan of anything apple-y until I got a taste of Empire's Apple Crumble..I am on the hunt for that perfect Apple Crumble/Pie..but if all this talk about food is tickling your taste buds, Swensen's Apple Crumble serves the almost-meanest apple crumble (imagine applie crumble 'cooked' in a hot sizzling plate topped with vanilla ice-cream and served with hot caramel sauce..yummmm)..and one serving of Kiulap's Coffeezone's crispy apple pie is simply not enough!
8) Talk shows Starworld and Hallmark are starting to impress me with their tv programme selections of late - Without A Trace, Criminal Minds, Law & Order - but nothing excites me more than getting to watch the latest installations of Oprah and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. While Oprah is more focused on the current issues/celebrities/books, Ellen is more focused on her comedic skills/humour. My only complaint? Why the odd hours??
Did I miss anything which ought to be in this month's list? Let's hear what you gotta say/add..
