Is it just me ..but..?

I have a bone to pick with our local cinemagoers especially when it comes to cinema etiquette.

Firstly, people should learn to keep their mouths shut whilst watching a movie. Sure I don't mind the odd comment or two but if they want to engage in a continuous conversation throughout the movie, I would suggest buying the dvd and watching it at home where they are free to talk to their hearts' content!

Another thing..I'm probably in the minority but it does get rather annoying when people kick the seats infront of them..even after politely telling them not to!

And the most classic scenario is parents bringing their kids along to 15 and/or 18 rated movies. I remember watching Miami Vice sometime last year when I noticed this man watching it with his daughter, who looked 5 or 6 years of age. I was rather taken aback that this man would bring a minor to watch this 18-rated movie which surprisingly wasn't even censored.

Ok perhaps in his defence, he wasn't familiar with Miami Vice or the lack (or rather absence) of any ratings by the relevant authorities didn't allow this man to make any judgment call as to whether or not his child should be watching that movie. But that shouldn't excuse him from taking the appropriate action when the s*x scenes were showing i.e. he should've walked out of the cinema with his daughter!

I don't care whether it's Spiderman or Jangan Pandang Belakang...if parents want to bring their kids along, FORGET IT! Or even better, don't bother coming to the cinema at all. I don't go to the cinema to hear kids crying, whining, talking or even playing their Gameboys/PSPs.

In all seriousness, our society needs to learn, or at least understand, that some things are best left at home, or, in my perfect world - change is required. As much as I crave for this change, people's attitude would still remain as they always have been...yapping non-stop with their friends, letting their mobile phones ring loudly, bringing babies/kids to 15/18 rated flicks..and the list goes on..

...what I would do just to sit down, enjoy and have a fuss-free time at the cinema *SIGH*
