Musings

When Medulla and I started this blog, one of the few topics which we decided not to touch on was politics. Yes, the"P" word. (Shudders) So much controversy..problems..sensitive..ugly..dirty..and the list goes on.

Lately, however, the presidential campaigns in the good ol' US of A have somehow piqued my interest bearing in mind that I am not a fan of this "P" word. But then it's impossible to avoid all the hoo-ha that has been going on as far back as the middle of last year particularly with the potential candidates that have been in the forefront of newspapers and tv everywhere as well as the internet. From Obama's celebrity-filled supporters to Bill Clinton's momentary lapse of outrage, there's no doubt the presidential race campaign will be an interesting journey for those involved.

I have no particular favourites but if (and that's a really big IF which would only happen if I'm the last person standing on this planet alongside Obama/Hillary/McCain etc..in other words, NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!)..given the opportunity, I'd vote for Hillary. That she is a woman has little to do with my choice but the media seems to have a blast emphasizing her blunders and weaknesses. Case in point, this is what headlines at The Huffington Post screamed today: "Weekend at Hillary's" which goes on to say "Loses in Louisiana, Nebraska, Washington State, and the Virgin Islands, Fires Campaign Manager, Then Loses in Maine". Contrast that to this "Obama poised to win Virginia primary". Simple yet short..but nevertheless powerful. Yet another case of media biasness.

And partly to blame are those celebrities who have jumped on the Obama bandwagon. Save for a select few, are the rest of them declaring their love for Obama because of the name (a.k.a it's the "in" thing to do)? Are we led to believe that 2-3 years down the line, these same celebrities will still be endorsing Obama the Prez? Time will surely tell..

C'est la vie.

Just an observation from an amused kitty cat..

Oh yes... we shall see Obama. It seem to me like a choice between gender vs. race as well - Sorry if that is a controversial point (and apologies in advance if it does offend anyone) but it is.

Two issues contending to take a lead terms of Making A Change to the current status quo.

Interestingggg.

Sorry, my bad. Reduced spelling accuracy at this time of night is completely forgiveable. :P

Yes exactly what I was thinking too..but somehow forgot to mention in my entry. Basically are the yanks truly and genuinely ready to embrace change..change as in race and gender?
