Just when we thought we'd heard enough of the never-ending antics of Paris Hilton, along comes another celebrity who seems to have run foul of the law. Incase you haven't read today's papers then I'll fill you in..who else but the infamous Lindsay Lohan who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in the wee hours of Sunday morning when her car struck a curb and shrub on Sunset Boulevard. And that's not all, police investigating the incident also found a substance believed to be cocaine at the scene of the incident.
Sometimes I just don't understand the fascination with Lindsay, Paris et al in terms of why we should care about what's currently going on in this world. I suppose I can understand why Paris attracts all the media attention i.e. billionaire heiress who's got nothing worthwhile to offer to the world except trash, but in Lindsay's case..here we have a talented actress (I still have a soft spot for her in The Parent Trap remake movie) who could gain respect alongside other former child actresses such as Natalie Portman, Kirsten Dunst just to name a few. Instead she's wasting away her youth to endless partying, alcohol, drugs, family problems and petty catfights! And she's only..what..20!??!!
Sure she's at that stage where she's discovering "life" but isn't there a limit (as) to how much partying and drinking she can do? Why isn't her manager/agent/personal assistant/friends/family telling her to slow down? Ironically enough her mother's too caught up 'cashing in' to her daughter's problems to even bother giving her a good scolding. Now if there ever was an award for "worst role model" then Dina Lohan is right up there with Kathy Hilton.
So I can moan, whine, complain about the constant gossip regarding these idiots but so long as they court the media, they'll make the headlines alongside the war on Iraq, the Middle-Eastern conflict, the Venezuelan unrest and the G8 meeting.
