Disappearing acts

Prepare for the worst people..the Writers Guild of America is going on strike as of today. So should any of your favourite shows go on reruns or worst case scenario, disappear..this is all because of the (cue scary music please..ching ching CHIIINNGG!!) strike.

Who are these Writers Guild of America (WGA)? What strike are we talking about? Why are they going on strike? Should we even care?

IF you're a TV addict as much as yours truly (miaow!) who spends almost each week catching up on whether George and Izzie will finally do the deed or whether Peter finally regains his memory or whether Wilhemina will finally walk down the aisle then you might have every bit of reason to be worried. Imagine going 22 weeks without knowing the resolution of how Hiro will find his way back to 2007/8 or whether Meredith and McDreamy will ever get back together...yes it will be painful. Basically here's the scoop:

"In a nutshell, the writers are trying to negotiate how they will be reimbursed for their contributions in the new media marketplace (i.e. DVD, the internet, mobile phones, et al)."

So let's hope some genius out there will come up with some resolution to all this bickering 'cause after all, we do want to know.
