One happy and stuffed Kitty

Perhaps you've come across the advert for BBQ Seafood Nite at Rizqun in the papers for the past one-and-a-half week or so...one which says $36 per adult and $18 per child for early bird registration (usual price $40 per adult and $20 per child)?

In any case it comes highly recommended and not one to be missed. And this is coming from a true food lover!

Tonight was my second visit...and despite the change of venue - I'd been wondering where the patrons would be placed should tonight turn out to be a wet one - we were still treated to the same freshly-flown oysters (New Zealand), king prawns (joy!), muscles, grilled lamb, satay, lobster bisque (double joy!!), clam chowder, salmon - just to name a few, and I haven't even gotten to the desserts yet!!

Some words of advice if you're thinking of going:
  • Come with a relatively empty stomach. With all the food around you, surely you don't want to spoil the occasion by eating one or two dishes only.
  • Get there early. The buffet starts at 6.30 pm..let's just say by the time I started on the bbq/grilled stuff, I had to wait for 10-15 minutes for the food to be prepared.
  • If you like lamb (or is it kambing?), get to it as early as possible. The chefs might have prepared one ekor of lamb but on a busy night as tonight, there'll be none left after 8!
  • Request for a table further away from the smoke coming from the BBQ and frying going on outside the hall. Important for those going on a date as you and your partner might end up sitting in the middle of the hall where, aside the smoke, people are constantly walking by..hardly romantic if you ask me!
  • Don't be fooled when the advert offers discount for early bird registration. Sure it's subject to terms and conditions BUT you might be asked to pay for the meal well in advanced.
  • Bring friends and/or family who enjoy eating as much as you do. It'll be such a waste seeing one of your guests going for the salad and fruits only.
  • Finally, take your time eating. Enjoy your company and the food..especially if you intend to try out ALL of the dishes.
